Overview of the past week
This past week working on my academic concentration I have accomplished many things. I was able to nearly complete my concentration paper, complete my competencies, and talk with some staff about ways to reduce plastic on campus while making their lives easier. Over the week I learned some valuable tasks for my future in college, while writing MLA formatted papers. I enjoyed the flexible nature of what I was doing without any surprises. The following is a recap of how my week went.
This week I learned one major thing about writing a MLA formatted paper. I learned how you would include vocabulary in a MLA formatted research paper. I had to look this information up on the MLA work cited website Perdue owns. This week I enjoyed it significantly because I could make my own time. I just had to meet a certain number of hours. I found the week a nice change of pace from school, and interesting to see how another person’s job such as a researcher's way works. This week went very smoothly and there was only one bump in the road. Everything happened as expected this week, although the days went by a little slower than expected, but other than that my days were planned out and I followed those plans quite well. The only part of my plan that did not go completely to plan was having Brian and Barbara Major sign a plastics pledge. The plastics pledge would be a commitment for the school to remove the use and purchase of all single use plastics on campus. I will benefit in the future from this week's activities especially in college. This is because this past week I have improved my ability to write long papers. The ability to write long research papers is something I will be doing a lot of in college. What I have been doing helps me achieve my goal of completing this concentration and improving the amount of plastic Proctor is disposing of yearly. I completed a total of 37 hours 10 minutes this past week.
